Call for Applications

The Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation invites applications for the academic year 2011/2012. Areas of emphasis include science as well as technology and engineering.

Applicants interested in pursuing a doctorate with an emphasis in those areas must have a completed degree (M.A. or the equivalent) with above average marks.

Grants are awarded for a minimum of three months. Scholarships amount to € 10.000,-. All application materials (statement of purpose, outline of project, letters of reference) must be received by November 11, 2011 at the International Offices of the partner universities in this program (please see http://www.marshallplan.at/marshall-plan-program-partner).

Marshall Plan Scholarships Announced

Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the historic speech held by U.S. Secretary of State George C. Marshall at Harvard University on 5 June 2007, Martin Bartenstein, Federal Minister of Economics and Labour, and HE Susan McCaw, Ambassador of the United States of America to Austria, officially declared the intention of the two governments to improve Austrian-American relations in the spirit of the Marshallplan and strengthen scholarly and scientific co-operation.

Funded by the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, an academic exchange program was established to finance scholarships and fellowships for academic exchange between Austria and the U.S. with a special focus on universities of applied sciences and technical universities ('Fachhochschulen und Technische Universitäten’).
